Get Off Your Phone!!
Phones have been one of the biggest technological movements of the century, especially when everyone has one nowadays. Phones have altered society greatly, including bringing people closer together, but have also separated people. Everyone is more connected online, but everyone is also less talkative in real life. People tend to prefer using their phone rather than communicating with others, even at events where communication is the main thing. People meet other people through online networks nowadays, whereas making friends in person is much rarer. Younger generations have more access to phones nowadays and it is limiting the social skills of these younglings. In the future, technology will most likely take over our world and force everyone to communicate through technology.
Family, parent, friend, and teacher relationships have been more distant as people start to use cell phones more and more. Cell phones may have made friends closer with you, but has definitely made teacher and parent relationships farther apart. In my opinion, cell phones should be allowed in schools and classrooms because it helps students work. Without an "oasis" in the classroom, studying would be a lot harder. Cell phones give students a sense of freedom without having to sneak the phone during class. Administrators should permit the use of phones, but not allow extensive use such as games and movies. These things are left to be done during your leisure time.

Celebrities Behaving Badly
People always overlook their favourite celebrities simply because they are their favourite. Just like your parents' love for you, it is unconditional. People may like celebrity conflict as well, as it seems entertaining to watch celebrities lash out on one another. Some people also overlook their misbehaviours because they are simply diehard fans of the celebrity.They support their favourite celebrity to the best of their ability.
Even though they are celebrities, their behaviour should not be ignored. Being more famous does not mean you get additional perks in society. They should suffer consequences for any act against the law just like normal people. So far, society has taken care of their misbehaviours pretty well, especially when these celebrities are always taking advantage of their social status. Consequences are given to them, such as jailing them and arresting them.
Celebrities may seem to have perks in society; but they are just normal people like us. Normally, our lives would be ruined because of crimes we may have done. Celebrities do not suffer this consequence; our society has evolved to the point where their crimes are ignored or even boasted. There will be a lot of controversy, but overall the celebrities still remain famous and successful.
Safe Schools?
Bullying is a common problem in children and teens of all ages. It occurs in schools most often, where someone chooses to harass another kid for the fun of it. What the bully doesn't know is that this harms the child significantly. Many cases happened where a child suggests suicidal ideas or thoughts and executes the thought. These ideas and thoughts only happen because the child is either too stressed out, or most often, is bullied. Sometimes bullying can cause murderous thoughts in the child's mind and cause him/her to do unacceptable actions.
This is what happened in this case. The 14 year-old woman brought two knives to school and released her anger on six innocent students and three faculty members. These students may have done nothing wrong to her, but someone in the school definitely has. The amount of bullying she had received was enough to stir murderous thoughts inside of her head. Her quote; "Nobody believes me," was enough to describe the school's unsupportiveness towards bullied victims. Victims of bullying are prone to these issues and will get to the point where they break and commit homicidal things.
Schools should encourage anti-bullying in order to avoid these problems. Luckily, my school has a bullying awareness week which plays a major role in preventing these problems. Our school can possibly start programs in which we try and spread the awareness on bullying throughout different schools. We must be supportive to the victims of bullying, so they feel less lonely and feel more integrated in the school community.

Why you always lying
The Internet is a Lie
People are gullible. They will believe anything you say, even if it does not seem true. Especially when it comes to the Internet, people will trust anything someone else posts or says. During the hype for the US lottery worth 1.3 billion dollars, a person posted an image about how the money could be split up to every citizen in the US to end poverty. The problem is; he didn't do his math right. So instead of $4.39 each person, he calculated it as $4.39 million dollars each. That does not seem right at all. People believed him, even thought it was off by 6 digits.
Advertisements, shows, documentaries; everything people say, people will believe them. Unless the person is a scientist or has a Ph.D, I won't believe anything. In full honesty, when I first saw the equation and the answer, I was surprised as to why every person got millions, even though there's 300 million people in the USA. The answer did not seem right; it was missing too many digits. Thats when I found out the person did his math wrong and I did not believe it anymore.
The problem with our world is that with the Internet, people have come to believe things too quickly. If an advertisement says that *blank* lotion gets rid of wrinkled skin, people will believe it! People can be tricked so easily, so oblivious to lies in the Internet.

I will never ever pay for ad-free videos
That moment when you're watching a YouTube video and BAM - a sudden ad comes out of nowhere - and it has a painfully long duration to come with it as well. These are one of the most annoying things made to living mankind; ADS.
Ads come in many shapes and sizes - from blocking a corner during internet surfing to popping up and blocking your entire screen while you are playing a phone game - all are extremely annoying. Let's say there's a funny video on YouTube that you want to show your friend. You open up the video and boom; a 30 second long unskippable ad pops up. The first reaction will always be "AWW COME ON". Ads ads ads...
I understand, people need to make revenue off of their own videos, but at least put shorter ads in your videos! Putting a 30-second long ad inside your video is very painful for the millions of us out there. Obviously, I can survive these ads and help the video producer a bit, but over time, these ads get extremely annoying especially when you are watching multiple videos in a row.
With the introduction of YouTube Red, watching videos has never been as expensive as before! With a super "cheap" cost of $9.99 per month, your wallet will be empty by the end of next year! Let's get this straight; paying for free videos is certainly a no. There is a reason the word "free" is in front of the word "videos". The reason YouTube is so popular is because it is an efficient way for people of all ages to learn and be entertained without having to pay (internet service fees are excluded) a cent. Ads are used to help generate revenue for producers so that it becomes a win-win situation. However, with the introduction of YouTube Red, the situation now is more like a -1000% lose to a $1000 win.
On my side of things, I would NEVER pay for free videos. Even if the subscription cost lowered, I would still not pay for it. It is clearly just not worth it; especially when the current ads are only 5-30 seconds long. The longer ads have a "Skip Ad" button, which is a feature YouTube may remove to influence more people to subscribe to their service.
TV is DYING! ... or is it?
TV has become a classic thing to do nowadays, especially with the introduction of media applications such as Netflix and AppleTV. Since cable offers many channels, it makes it kind of hard to find a specific channel you like when your favourite channels are broadcasting something uninteresting. This is a major problem in the history of television, especially when there are over 100 channels each broadcasting something random. With the introduction of media applications that allow streaming of videos anytime and anywhere, TV is quickly becoming obsolete. There is no need to browse channels and find a show you like anymore; you can choose and watch any show anytime.
Back in the early first decade of the 21st century, TV used to be the major entertainment appliance used to entertain people of all ages. Children and adults used to gather together to, perhaps, watch a show. However, with the new media appliances, it is possible to have "marathons"; watching an entire season or seasons of a show without stopping. People will usually watch alone or with one other person which is completely different from the old days where people will watch with their entire family. It is still possible to watch as an entire family, but it is more rare.
Television is definitely dying, and cable services, etc will go down with television. These new media applications will take over. Probably the biggest advantage of these new applications is the freedom to schedule your own shows, without having to be controlled entirely by the broadcaster's schedule. This makes it so that you can be fully entertained at any time anywhere.
I have my own experiences with television; I was very fond of television, until I lost interest with it. When I was younger, I used to be addicted to television like I was addicted to chocolate. After a while, it became less entertaining; the preferred shows always broadcasted after my curfew. I discovered YouTube in grade 1, but did not take any notice of it. After a while, YouTube became a very popular video site, slowly obliterating television and making it obsolete. A few months went by and our television was never used. My family cut the cable as it was not necessary anymore. Media streaming services was also partly why we cut off the cable; it was more convenient and inexpensive. In my opinion, television is definitely dying.... quickly.
